Artist Cohort
Both artists are developing works in dialogue with their upcoming presentations at ARCO Madrid 2026, complemented by a focused residency period at DOMA.
MANUEL TAINHA
Lisbon-based painter with exhibitions at Galeria Foco and Casa da Arquitectura, known for turning textiles bleach, and embroidered surfaces into gestural, atmospheric compositions.
> > Residency Focus
Building on his ongoing research into natural representation in painting and its dialogue with architectural and domestic influences, Manuel will create works that relate to both the interior and exterior spaces of Quinta, developing parallel bodies of work through studio practice and site engagement.

VASCO FUTSCHER
Portuguese sculptor and ceramicist exhibiting at ARCO and Kubikgallery, creating hybrid objects that merge architecture, material research, and disciplined form.
>> Residency Focus
During the residency, Vasco will continue to develop this body of work through hands-on research into local materials, techniques, and ceramic traditions. His sculptural practice will be accompanied by drawing as a space for experimentation and notation, allowing place to inform both process and form.
